Effect of Rotation Number on Parameter of Fertilisation of Poligamously Mating Domestic Pigeons (Columba Livia L.)

چکیده
In the rotation method to break monogamous mating habits, 24 male and female racing pigeons were used. They didved into three groups, each consisting of 8 feamle put separated in huts A, B, C. At first (second mating) hut a moved B; all B C while took place A. The females rotated sequentially times also. With regard percentage fertilization productivity rate, there no significant differences at 5% level (P>0.05) among rotations. regression (b - 0.72%) on number 0.89%) rate found not be significantly different from zero. correlation coefficients attached both regressions (r 0.41 r -0.34) respectively level. rotational did depress parameters fertility tested is, as such useful tool induce sequential polygamy.

Visually Elicited Head Rotation In Pigeons (Columba livia)
Horizontal rotational head movements were video-taped from pigeons standing freely in a rotating cylinder. The cylinder carried vertically striped patterns approximating a sinusoidally modulated horizontal intensity distribution. We altered systematically various stimulus parameters: spatial wavelength and contrast of the pattern, angular velocity of the pattern motion and mode of motion onset....

متن کاملOrthographic processing in pigeons (Columba livia).
Learning to read involves the acquisition of letter-sound relationships (i.e., decoding skills) and the ability to visually recognize words (i.e., orthographic knowledge). Although decoding skills are clearly human-unique, given they are seated in language, recent research and theory suggest that orthographic processing may derive from the exaptation or recycling of visual circuits that evolved...
